Arkansas property owners face an October 15 deadline to pay their property taxes or face a 10% penalty, according to the state’s online Property Tax Center. The deadline applies statewide, with taxpayers able to pay online, by mail, or in person at their county tax collector’s office, typically located in the local courthouse.

Online payment options are available in most counties, simplifying the process for homeowners and other property owners. The amount owed is based on the property’s assessed value, as determined by the county assessor.

The state offers a Homestead Property Tax Credit, which reduces the tax burden on an owner's primary residence. Homeowners may need to confirm their eligibility and apply for this credit through their assessor's office or another local agency.

Failure to meet the October 15 deadline will result in an automatic 10% penalty on the unpaid amount. To assist residents with tax-related deadlines, the state also offers "Gov2Go," a free service that provides reminders for tax assessments, property tax payments, and vehicle tag renewals.
