St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Mountain Home will host its annual parish picnic on Sunday, Oct. 18, welcoming the community to join in the festivities. The event will begin after the 11 a.m. Mass and continue into the afternoon.

Food will be served in the parish hall from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. The menu includes homemade Italian sausage prepared by parishioners Frank Mosatto and Jerry Prinner and chicken breasts available to accommodate guests with alpha-gal allergies. Hot dogs will also be provided for children. Parishioners are encouraged to bring a dish representative of their family’s heritage to share.

The picnic marks the first such event under the leadership of Father Alex Smith, who became the church’s pastor on July 1. Father Smith succeeds Father Norbert Rappold, who served the parish for 13 years before being reassigned by the Diocese of Little Rock to St. Boniface Church in Bigelow.

Family-friendly activities are planned for the day, including bouncy houses and a slide for children. The Knights of Columbus will offer beer for a suggested donation, and music will play throughout the afternoon.

St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church is located at 249 Dyer Street in Mountain Home. Those seeking additional information about the picnic can contact Lisa House at (870) 421-1119.
