PARAGOULD, Ark. — A man from Paragould is facing serious charges following an allegation that he sold a significant quantity of methamphetamine in a controlled police operation.
Eric Sullivan, also known by the name "40," is charged with the delivery of methamphetamine in an amount between 10 and 200 grams, according to an affidavit submitted in Greene County District Court. The offense is classified as a Class Y felony, the most severe category of crimes in Arkansas not punishable by death.
The alleged sale occurred in July as part of an operation by the Paragould Police Department’s VICE unit. According to court documents, investigators used a confidential informant to carry out the purchase. Before and after the transaction, the informant and their means of transportation were searched to ensure no contraband or unauthorized money was present. The transaction was recorded using audio and video equipment.
The affidavit, signed by Paragould police Investigator Hunter De Sesso on October 2, states that reliable confidential informants had identified Sullivan as the person who uses the alias "40." Following the review of evidence, a judge determined there was probable cause to issue an arrest warrant.
A bond of $100,000 has been set, either as a surety or in a form acceptable to the Greene County sheriff. Court records indicate any potential release will require Sullivan to follow specific conditions, including living a law-abiding life, refraining from possessing firearms, and complying with ankle-monitor requirements. Final release arrangements will be determined after Sullivan’s arrest.
It is unclear from the records whether Sullivan had been taken into custody at the time of filing.
As with any criminal charge, it is important to note that Sullivan is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
