Mountain Home High School’s football team remains among the top-ranked teams in Arkansas, maintaining its position at fifth in Class 6A in the Arkansas Sports Media High School Football Poll for the week ending October 3. The Bombers also received five votes in the overall rankings.
The poll, voted on by 17 sports media members statewide, assesses the performance of teams across seven divisions based on records and other factors.
In the Class 6A rankings, Mountain Home, currently holding a 4-1 record, remains behind Searcy, Benton, Sheridan, and El Dorado. Searcy, with an undefeated 5-0 season, leads the division and garnered 16 first-place votes. In the overall poll, Mountain Home also received recognition, securing five points alongside other notable schools from various classifications.
Izard County’s football program earned distinction in the 8-man football poll, receiving four votes. Corning and Cedar Ridge lead the 8-man division with perfect 5-0 records.
The overall poll saw Shiloh Christian in the top spot, earning 161 points and 10 first-place votes. Bentonville West and Conway followed, with 139 and 130 points, respectively. Other programs like Joe T. Robinson and Searcy rounded out the top five overall teams in Arkansas high school football.
