A Jonesboro woman faces multiple theft and drug-related charges after police say she stole more than $10,000 worth of jewelry from residents of a local senior living facility.
Brittiny N. Watson, 40, was arrested on Oct. 2 and is being held at the Craighead County Detention Center on a $75,000 cash or surety bond. According to the Craighead County District Court, Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge Watson with multiple counts during a court hearing Monday.
The investigation began on September 21 when Jonesboro police responded to The Bungalows of Jonesboro, located in the 4200 block of Caraway Road, following reports of theft. According to a probable cause affidavit, Watson, who had been an employee of the facility since May 2025, was identified as a suspect.
Detective Dustin McKenzie reported that additional thefts were discovered over the following two weeks, with stolen items collectively valued at over $10,000. McKenzie said an online search revealed Watson had sold numerous jewelry items to Jonesboro-area pawn shops.
On October 2, detectives confirmed one of the stolen items had been pawned by Watson, prompting officers to visit her workplace to take her into custody. During the arrest, McKenzie said Watson admitted to carrying a pipe, which a subsequent search revealed contained suspected methamphetamine. Police also found 3 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine in her possession.
In a post-Miranda interview, investigators said Watson admitted to entering the rooms of three residents at the senior living facility and stealing jewelry, though she denied involvement in other reported thefts. Affidavit details state she sold the jewelry at local pawn shops.
Watson is scheduled to appear in circuit court on Nov. 23.
