Sharp County Sheriff Shane Russell announced multiple arrests following compliance checks conducted last week on registered sex offenders in the area. The operation uncovered a range of violations, including failure to meet registration and reporting requirements, as well as drug and firearms-related offenses. According to the sheriff's office, the investigation is ongoing.

Among those arrested during the sweep were:

- **Jeffery Dean King**, 46, of Smithville, identified as a Level 3 high-risk offender by the Arkansas Crime Sex Offender Registry. - **Jimmy Sterling Wyatt**, 72, of Cherokee Village, charged with failure to register and comply with reporting requirements. - **Alexander Riddle Armstrong**, 33, of Cherokee Village, previously convicted of second-degree sexual assault in February 2024. - **David Goodman**, 57, of Hardy, charged with failure to comply with reporting requirements.

All four remain in custody at the Sharp County Detention Center awaiting their next court appearances.

Additional arrests made earlier last week include:

- **Matthew Baldrige**, 62, of Cherokee Village. - **Donald Jay Wutke**, 53, of Hardy. - **Lucas Clute**, 23, of Cherokee Village. - **Alvin Moore**, 51, of Cherokee Village. - **Jacky Lee Dalton**, 33, of Highland. - **Carl David Walls**, 69, of Ash Flat.

These individuals are also being held in Sharp County's detention facility.

Sheriff Russell recognized his department’s efforts in enforcing compliance with registration laws designed to monitor and regulate convicted offenders. The department has indicated that further arrests and charges may follow as the investigation continues.
