A crash in Lawrence County on the afternoon of September 25 claimed the life of a Walnut Ridge woman, according to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police.
Shawn Lynette Russell, 50, was a passenger in a 2025 Kawasaki Ridge Crew when it veered off Lawrence 507 Road and overturned in a ditch near Lawrence 504 Road. The crash occurred at approximately 2:09 p.m., the report states. The driver, whose name has not been disclosed, sustained injuries in the incident.
State Police described the weather as clear and the road as dry at the time of the accident. The vehicle, identified as Vehicle 1 in the report, had been traveling north before skidding off the left side of the roadway.
The Arkansas State Police preliminary summary lists Deputy Chris Carter as the investigating officer, with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office involved in the response.
