The 45th annual Baxter Health and KTLO Health Fair and Expo will take place Wednesday at the Mountain Home Community Center, marking the first year the event has been hosted at the newly opened facility. Organizers aim to go beyond standard health care offerings this year, with a broader focus on fitness, wellness, and lifestyle resources.
The free event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature businesses and organizations addressing a wide range of health-related topics. These include financial planning with legal experts, insurance enrollment guidance, local support services, and spiritual health resources provided by area faith leaders. In addition to these resources, the Community Center will offer on-site demonstrations in its cardio area, workout room, and Baxter Health therapy pool, with professionals on hand to provide instruction on using the equipment and facilities properly.
Mountain Home Mayor Hillrey Adams noted the dual purpose of the fair, which allows visitors to explore the health services available while becoming familiar with the new Community Center’s amenities. "The Health Fair is a great opportunity for residents to connect with resources and learn how to make the most of this incredible facility," Adams said.
Attendees will also have access to vital sign checks, including blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, temperature, and respiration readings. Vouchers for free testing, including blood sugar, cholesterol, PSA, and HbA1c screenings, will be provided for follow-up visits at later dates.
Tobias Pugsley, Baxter Health’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications, encouraged the community to participate, emphasizing the value of the resources available at the event. "This is a chance to learn about all that our region has to offer in terms of health and wellness," Pugsley said.
The Community Center, located at 1 Community Center Drive in Mountain Home, will waive admission fees during the Health Fair. Visitors interested in utilizing the facilities long-term can also sign up for memberships on-site.
Local radio stations KTLO, Classic Hits, and The Boot will provide live coverage throughout the event. Additional details, including a map of vendors, can be found online at KTLO.com.
