Logan Ashler Rentz has been convicted of manslaughter in the death of Shannon Fisher of Walnut Ridge, according to court records shared Thursday. Rentz was sentenced to five years in prison, with credit awarded for ten months of time already served.

The case stems from an incident on the night of January 16, 2023, when Walnut Ridge police were dispatched to Main Street Pizza, located in downtown Walnut Ridge. Officers arrived in response to a report of an unresponsive man in the parking lot behind the restaurant. Fisher was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

Rentz was taken into custody shortly after the incident, and the investigation ultimately led to manslaughter charges being filed against him. Details surrounding the events leading to Fisher's death were presented in court, resulting in Thursday’s conviction.

The sentencing includes additional jail credit for time Rentz has already served during the legal process. No further information on the circumstances of the case or any appeals was immediately available.
