Voter guides for the 2026 Arkansas election are now available to help residents understand the four issues on this year’s ballot. Distributed by the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Public Policy Center, the guides aim to provide non-partisan, clear explanations of each issue, including what a 'For' or 'Against' vote signifies, quotes from supporters and opponents, and the potential impacts on voters.
In Lawrence County, the guides can be picked up at several locations: the Lawrence County Extension Office, Lawrence County Courthouse, Lawrence County Library, Lynn Library, Imboden Library, and Portia City Hall. A digital version is also accessible online through a voter education portal on the UA Division of Agriculture website, and it can be downloaded using a QR code printed on the cover of the guide.
This year, Lawrence County voters will weigh in on a proposed increase to the county property tax rate to support the road department. A dedicated fact sheet prepared by the UA Division of Agriculture outlines what the potential tax adjustment could mean for residents and how it may affect their tax bills.
Election officials remind residents that October 5 is the last day to register to vote in time for the General Election, which takes place on November 3. Early voting begins on October 19 at designated polling sites.
