The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) has broken ground on a new VA clinic in Mountain Home that promises to offer expanded and enhanced medical services for area Veterans. The facility, located at 199 West End Way, will replace the current clinic, providing a larger, more modern environment for both patients and staff.
The clinic will span approximately 17,000 square feet and feature an array of health services, including primary care, specialty care, and diagnostic imaging. Additional support functions will enhance the care experience, officials said.
Dr. Michael Moore, who has served as Medical Center Director since 2024, emphasized the importance of gathering feedback from local Veterans throughout the planning process. “Early on in the process, it was important that we be face-to-face with Veterans of the area, hearing their feedback at the town halls and also expressing our mutual interest in providing expanded clinical services,” Moore said during the groundbreaking ceremony. “Today has been a long time coming, and I know that both Veterans and our staff are excited to begin construction.”
By bringing more comprehensive services closer to Veterans' homes, the new clinic aims to reduce travel burdens and improve timely access to care, particularly for those living in Mountain Home and surrounding communities. Officials also highlighted that the facility is designed to enhance continuity of care for the region's Veteran population.
The project marks a significant investment in the healthcare infrastructure of the Mountain Home area, reflecting the VA's commitment to addressing the needs of local Veterans.
