Ravenden Mayor Tim McComas announced that the city has secured an additional $366,809 grant from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Division. The funding, which requires no matching contribution from the city, will enable critical upgrades to the town’s waterline infrastructure.
The grant will support the installation of a six-inch water main to improve service reliability. The new main will run beneath the railroad tracks, along 1st Street, and partially around the Spring River Circle, according to the mayor.
The additional funding comes as part of an effort to expand a current waterline project. Mayor McComas expressed gratitude for the state’s support and said the funds will directly address key infrastructure needs in the community.
"This new grant will allow us to make necessary improvements without placing a financial burden on our residents," McComas said in a statement.
The project timeline and further details on construction have not yet been announced.
