Burn bans that had been in place across multiple North Arkansas counties have been lifted following recent rainfall. Boone County Judge Mitchell Archer rescinded his county's burn ban Friday morning, citing sufficient rainfall in most areas of the county. The ban had originally been in effect since September 1.

Not long after, Baxter County Judge Mickey Pendergrass announced the end of the burn ban in Baxter County. Pendergrass advised residents who live within city limits to check with their local mayor's office to confirm whether burn restrictions remain in place at the municipal level.

In Sharp County, the Ash Flat Fire Department reported on October 2 that the countywide burn ban had also been lifted. The City of Norfork followed suit with its own announcement, permitting outdoor burning effective immediately.

Officials reminded the public that all outdoor burning must comply with applicable local and state laws, and caution should still be exercised despite the recent rainfall. Residents are encouraged to follow safety protocols to prevent accidental fires.
