The Flippin Lady Bobcats had an eventful week, tallying two wins and a loss in a series of hard-fought volleyball matches.

Flippin (13-7, 8-3) opened their schedule with a five-set victory over the Salem Lady Greyhounds on Monday. After dropping the first set 25-19, the Lady Bobcats rallied to win the second set 25-11. Salem then took the third set 25-18, but Flippin fought back for a narrow 25-22 win in the fourth set and dominated the tie-breaker 15-4 to close the match.

On Tuesday, Flippin faced the Melbourne Lady Bearkats and fell 3-1. They lost the first set 25-23, secured the second set 25-13, but then dropped the final two sets 25-16 and 25-19.

Returning home on Thursday, the Lady Bobcats secured another 3-1 win, this time against Valley Springs. After winning the first set 25-22, Flippin lost the second 25-19 but closed strong with victories in the third and fourth sets, 25-12 and 25-17, respectively.

The Salem Lady Greyhounds had a challenging week. Following their Monday loss to Flippin, Salem fell to Melbourne 3-1 on Thursday. The Lady Greyhounds opened strong with a dramatic 31-29 victory in the first set but could not maintain the momentum, dropping the next three sets 25-14, 25-14, and 25-23.

Elsewhere, the Viola Lady Longhorns dropped a 3-1 decision to Omaha on Thursday. Viola lost the first two sets 25-22 and 25-12, won the third set 25-20, but fell in the final set 25-22.

Omaha’s Lady Eagles had a successful week, defeating the Izard County Lady Cougars 3-1 on Tuesday and following up with another 3-1 victory over Viola on Thursday. Against Izard County, Omaha won the first set 25-19, dropped the second 25-22, but clinched the third and fourth sets 25-21 and 25-19 to secure the win.

In non-Arkansas matches, the West Plains Lady Zizzers continued their impressive season, improving to 22-1-1 overall with a 3-0 sweep of visiting Branson. The Lady Zizzers took sets by scores of 25-15, 25-21, and 25-23. Meanwhile, the Mammoth Spring Lady Bears endured back-to-back losses, falling to Ridgefield Christian and Koshkonong, with both matches ending 3-0.

The Bakersfield Lady Lions also had mixed results, losing to Summersville 3-1 on Tuesday. Despite taking the third set 25-22, Bakersfield dropped the first, second, and fourth sets by scores of 25-19, 25-22, and 25-22, respectively.

This week’s results offer a snapshot of the competitive volleyball scene across local teams as they approach the final stretch of the season.
