The Yellville-Summit Panthers will face the Riverview Raiders on Friday night in a homecoming football game that also serves as a key matchup in the 2-3A Conference. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Panthers Stadium in Yellville.
Both teams enter the game with identical overall records of 1-3, but Riverview holds an edge in conference play, starting with a 30-22 victory over Marshall last week. By contrast, Yellville-Summit is still seeking its first league win after falling to Salem 46-20 in its conference opener.
Panthers head coach Chaseton McCarthy emphasized the importance of the matchup and the challenge Riverview will bring. Speaking with a local radio network, McCarthy noted the Raiders’ strengths and highlighted the need for his team to perform at its best in front of the homecoming crowd.
The game will provide an opportunity for the Panthers to turn their season around, while Riverview aims to maintain momentum in its push up the conference standings.
