The Mountain Home City Council is set to convene Thursday evening to deliberate on several key matters, including a proposed 2-mill property tax levy and an annexation ordinance. The meeting will take place at 5 p.m. in the council chambers of the Municipal Building at 720 Hickory Street and is open to the public.
Mayor Hillrey Adams is set to present a resolution to levy a 2-mill property tax for the City of Mountain Home. If approved, the tax would be recorded on the Baxter County collector’s books for the upcoming year.
The council will also discuss an ordinance related to the annexation of property adjacent to Water and Sewer Improvement District No. 3. Presented by Ted Sanders, the ordinance seeks to annex certain land into the City of Mountain Home and designate it as Commercial C-2C zoning.
Additionally, the council will conduct the second reading of an ordinance that establishes filing fees for specific petitions to the Planning Commission and the City Council. This measure, presented by Scott Liles, would also repeal Ordinances 1990-23 and 2023-21.
These agenda items reflect the council’s ongoing efforts to address financial and development matters impacting the city. Residents are encouraged to attend as Mountain Home evaluates these proposals.
