PARAGOULD, Ark. — The Paragould School District officially opened the doors to its new Paragould High School Arena on Wednesday, marking a significant upgrade for the school’s athletic facilities.
The 61,630-square-foot venue provides expanded space for basketball and volleyball events, featuring seating for up to 1,468 fans. This represents a substantial improvement from the school’s previous gymnasium, built in 1961, which could only accommodate 800 spectators.
In addition to doubling seating capacity, the arena includes seven locker rooms and dedicated spaces for cheer, dance, and wrestling programs, ensuring a more comprehensive sports facility for students and staff.
The project was designed by architectural firm Hight Jackson Associates and constructed by Nabholz Construction.
The district celebrated the completion of the arena during a ribbon-cutting event commemorating this milestone for the school community.
