The Izard County Cooperative Extension Service will host its annual Fall Producer Field Day on Thursday, October 8, at the Miller Poultry and Cattle Farm, located at 555 Miller Farms Road near Melbourne.
The program begins at 10 a.m. and will feature equipment demonstrations and educational sessions designed for local farmers and livestock producers. Izard County Extension Agent Michael Paskowitz is scheduled to give a presentation focusing on winter livestock nutrition and the importance of hay testing to improve feed quality.
Lunch will be provided for attendees, but pre-registration is required by Monday, October 5. Those interested in participating can register by calling the Izard County Extension Office in Melbourne at 870-368-4323.
The annual event is aimed at helping area producers improve farm operations and prepare for the challenges of the winter season.
