The Cotter Lady Warriors secured a decisive 3-0 victory over the Viola Lady Longhorns on Tuesday night, continuing their impressive volleyball season. The win improves Cotter's overall record to 21-2 and pushes their conference record in the 2A-2 league to a perfect 7-0.
Cotter came out strong in the first set, led by standout performances from Lily McNutt and Myah McNutt. Lily McNutt contributed seven kills, an ace serve, and a block for a point to lead the Lady Warriors to a 25-13 win. Myah McNutt recorded five kills and served back-to-back aces, while Reagan Cowart assisted with key sets, including one resulting in a critical kill by Riley Brotherton to help solidify Cotter’s lead.
Viola briefly led at the start of the second set, but Cotter quickly regained momentum, scoring four consecutive points. Cowart’s sets set the stage for multiple kills by Lily McNutt, who also added a block to her tally. Additional contributions came from Brotherton, Cowart, and Myah McNutt, as Cotter cruised to a dominant 25-9 second-set victory.
The third set showcased Cotter's relentless energy, opening with an 11-0 run before Viola could get on the board. During the stretch, Lily McNutt delivered five kills and two blocks, while Brotherton added a kill and two aces. Cotter maintained control throughout the set, with Cowart, Paige Meis, and Myah McNutt contributing on offense. Brotherton and Lily McNutt sealed the set with consecutive kills before Viola picked up the final points for their side. The Lady Warriors closed out the match with another commanding win, 25-10.
In other regional volleyball action on Tuesday, Bergman earned a 3-0 victory over Yellville-Summit with set scores of 25-9, 25-14, and 25-20. West Plains improved to 21-1-1 on the season after defeating Bolivar in three sets. Salem was scheduled to face Flippin later in the evening.
Cotter will look to continue their impressive run as they prepare for their next conference matchup.
