The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) has issued a boil water order for all customers of the South Mountain Water Association in Searcy County following a main water line break.
Affected residents are advised that water from the system may be unsafe for consumption. The ADH recommends bringing water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, or food preparation. Additionally, residents should discard ice made from the water and use boiled or bottled water to make fresh ice.
The boil order will remain in effect until lab testing confirms the water is free of bacterial contamination and an adequate level of disinfectant has been restored in the distribution system.
