A Hoxie man was arrested Tuesday afternoon and booked into the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Detention Center on allegations he sold a stolen tractor.
Rickey Lee Inman faces an outstanding warrant for theft of property, according to court records. Authorities allege Inman sold a John Deere tractor and attachment reported stolen on June 15 from Hoxie.
The case began to unfold on June 27, when the person who unknowingly purchased the tractor brought it to the Hoxie Police Department after learning it might be stolen. According to police, the buyer claimed they paid $11,000 for the equipment and were told by Inman it had been inherited.
Inman is currently being held at the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Detention Center. He remains in custody while awaiting a bond hearing and a court date, authorities said.
