A unique gathering will take to Norfork Lake at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, as the first-ever Norfork Lake Witch Paddle brings kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards together for a charitable cause. Participants in Halloween-inspired costumes will float from Pigeon Creek, raising donations for the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas and Have a Heart Pet Shelter.
The event is free and open to paddlers of all ages and skill levels. Organizers encourage participants to contribute dog or cat food, cat litter, or cash in support of the shelters. For every $10 donation, attendees will receive one entry into a raffle for prizes. A full list of raffle items can be found on the Twin Lakes Arkansas Paddling Facebook page.
Dogs are welcome to join the paddle if they enjoy being on the water. Life jackets are required for everyone participating.
