JONESBORO, Ark. — Authorities have arrested five men in connection with a multi-month drug trafficking investigation in Jonesboro that uncovered narcotics, firearms, and allegations of child endangerment. Court records detail the findings of the 2nd Judicial Drug Task Force after a July 1, 2026, search of a Cedar Heights Drive residence.
Agents began their investigation by monitoring alleged narcotics sales at the residence over a two-month period. Prosecutors claim the operation involved marijuana, oxycodone, and other substances sold by Brandon Larrell Williams, 32, and others working in concert. Surveillance and a controlled drug purchase led to a search warrant obtained on May 29, 2026.
During the July search, law officers reportedly found six small children asleep inside the home, with loaded firearms concealed under furniture, including a couch where some children were sleeping. The search additionally recovered:
- Marijuana - Pills believed to contain oxycodone - Three loaded handguns - Digital scales - Packaging material for drug distribution
Williams, previously convicted of manslaughter in 2016, has been charged with offenses including maintaining a drug premises, endangering the welfare of minors, and possession with intent to deliver. The residence is located within 1,000 feet of both a public park and a school bus route, court documents state. Williams was being held on a $250,000 cash bond as of Friday.
Four additional suspects were arrested and charged in connection with the case. According to affidavits, agents observed frequent visits by the suspects to the residence over the surveillance period, with allegations that several participated in narcotics sales. They are identified as:
- **Devonte Anderson, 25**, who was arrested during the search while holding a small child. Agents reported finding 2.7 grams of marijuana in his pocket. Anderson is charged with possession of a controlled substance and continuing a criminal enterprise, among other charges. His bond was set at $150,000.
- **Dequantel Evans, 28, and Willie Evans, 31**, accused of acting as lookouts during the July search. Both face charges of continuing a criminal enterprise and are being held on $150,000 cash bonds.
- **Maurice Brown, 27**, on probation at the time of his arrest. Brown reportedly approached the scene following the execution of the warrant. A search of his person and nearby property yielded nearly 48 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, and a cup used for weighing drugs, according to authorities. Brown faces multiple charges, including possession with intent to deliver and drug paraphernalia possession. He is also being held on a $150,000 bond.
Court records indicate all five suspects are scheduled for arraignment on August 21. Meanwhile, authorities emphasize the ongoing effort to combat narcotics-related crimes and protect vulnerable populations.
