A resident was rescued from a house fire early Wednesday morning in Mountain Home, according to a report from the Mountain Home Fire Department (MHFD).
Crews were dispatched to a residence at 101 Su Lane shortly after 12:14 a.m., with initial reports indicating that individuals were trapped inside the home. Upon arrival, firefighters were informed two people remained inside.
A search effort was immediately launched. Captain Eric Setzer located one individual in a back bedroom and safely removed them from the home. Firefighter Cole Ifland continued searching for the second person reportedly trapped inside, but no one else was found.
Two individuals were transported to the hospital to receive treatment for injuries sustained during the incident. The extent of their injuries was not disclosed.
The fire originated in the garage and caused moderate smoke damage throughout the home. Firefighters used approximately 250 gallons of water to extinguish the blaze.
Fourteen MHFD personnel responded to the scene, with five additional crew members on standby. The Clarkridge Fire Department provided additional assistance. Crews remained on-site for about two hours.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
