As the high school volleyball season nears its conclusion, area teams are gearing up for a busy week of competition ahead of post-season tournaments.
The Cotter Lady Warriors (18-2) have a packed schedule, hosting Viola on Tuesday after facing Omaha on Monday. Their final three matches include games at Bergman on Oct. 5 and Harrisburg on Oct. 6, before wrapping up at home against Alpena on Oct. 8.
The Flippin Lady Bobcats (11-6) played at Salem on Monday and are set to travel to Melbourne on Tuesday and Valley Springs on Thursday. They’ll close out their regular season at home on Oct. 8 against Yellville-Summit.
The Salem Lady Greyhounds (10-5) hosted Flippin on Monday and will head to Melbourne on Thursday. They plan to finish their regular season with a trio of matches next week: Oct. 5 at Highland, Oct. 6 at Walnut Ridge, and finally at home against Valley Springs on Oct. 8.
The Yellville-Summit Lady Panthers (4-11) will face Bergman on the road Tuesday. Their final home match is set for Oct. 6 against Melbourne, followed by a visit to Flippin on Oct. 8.
The Mountain Home Christian Academy Lady Eagles (10-9) anticipate ending their season with two matches. On Oct. 5, they are tentatively scheduled to play Ozark Christian Academy, followed by a home game against Mountain Grove Christian Academy on Oct. 6.
Across the border in Missouri, the Ava Lady Bears (4-8-7) will host Liberty on Tuesday before traveling to Mountain Grove on Thursday. The West Plains Lady Zizzers (20-1-1), boasting an impressive record, host Bolivar on Tuesday, Branson on Thursday, and travel to Webb City on Saturday. The Branson Lady Pirates (19-6-1) face Logan-Rogersville away on Tuesday before heading to West Plains on Thursday.
Finally, the Thayer Lady Bobcats (8-9-1) started their week at home Monday against Koshkonong. They will host Willow Springs on Tuesday and travel to Houston on Thursday as they look to finish strong.
Programs across the region are battling for favorable seeds in their respective tournaments as the 2023 season enters its final stretch.
