A Melbourne man faces charges of rape and sexual assault, with authorities claiming he assaulted a child on multiple occasions over several years.
Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Tim Weaver determined there was probable cause on Sept. 25 to arrest 25-year-old Dillian Cole Brown. Brown is charged with three counts of rape and six counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, according to court records.
Court documents allege the acts occurred between Jan. 1, 2015, and Dec. 31, 2024. Prosecuting Attorney Drew Smith stated Brown was at least 18 years old when the alleged crimes began, while the reported victim was under 14.
Brown is currently being held in the Izard County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond. His next court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
