Mountain Home Public Schools will mark its annual homecoming this week with a packed schedule of events, ranging from a downtown parade and pep rallies to an auction and the crowning of homecoming royalty. The week-long celebration kicks off Monday and concludes with a semi-formal dance Saturday evening.
Monday begins with the themed dress-up day “Lost Luggage,” encouraging students to wear mismatched clothes. Younger students at Mountain Home Kindergarten, Nelson-Wilks-Herron Elementary, and Hackler Intermediate will also receive homecoming-themed coloring pages. For high school students, float building for the parade will take place from 4 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday’s theme is “Cloud 9,” with students encouraged to dress in colors of the sky, such as blue, gray, and white. High school float building will continue that evening from 4 to 9 p.m.
On Wednesday, Mountain Home students will celebrate “Dreamy Denim” by wearing decorated denim apparel. The highlight of the day will be the homecoming parade, scheduled to start at 6 p.m. along the traditional downtown route. Following the parade, a powderpuff football game and a community pep rally will take place at Bomber Stadium at 7 p.m.
Thursday’s theme is “Top Gun,” inviting students to dress as pilots, flight attendants, or airport workers. That evening, the Mountain Home Education Foundation’s annual Night of Honors will be held at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home’s Sheid. As part of this year’s festivities, items belonging to longtime Mountain Home coach Don Webb will be auctioned. Webb’s 2019 Supreme L42 boat and his 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will go to the highest bidders, with proceeds supporting matched scholarships in his name. The final auction will take place during the eighth- and ninth-grade football games against Marion. On Friday, students will celebrate “Bombers Take Flight” by wearing homecoming shirts or blue and gold Bomber apparel. The day’s events will include an afternoon pep rally where the homecoming court will be presented. Evening festivities at Bomber Stadium will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the crowning of the homecoming king and queen scheduled for 6:45 p.m. The varsity football team will face Russellville in the homecoming game, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
Homecoming celebrations will continue into Saturday, starting with the 2026 Mountain Home Athletic Hall of Honor Induction Ceremony. The program begins at noon and takes place in the Mountain Home High School cafeteria at 1 p.m. The week concludes with a semi-formal dance for Mountain Home High School students in grades 10 through 12, scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. in the high school. Tickets for the dance are $10 and can be purchased in the high school library. Students must bring their homecoming ticket and student ID to enter.
