Dr. Jacob Carter, a physician at Baxter Health, has been honored with the Heroes with Halos Award. The recognition came after a patient submitted a nomination commending Dr. Carter’s dedication and compassionate care during two hospital visits.
Members of Baxter Health’s intensive care unit staff presented the award to Dr. Carter. The patient who nominated him highlighted his exceptional attentiveness, clear communication, and efforts to alleviate anxiety during their care. “Dr. Carter continued the legacy of exceptional care, listening attentively to my specific health challenges, explaining procedures clearly, and providing timely updates to ease my anxiety and ensure I was fully informed,” the patient wrote in their nomination.
The Heroes with Halos program, operated by the Baxter Health Foundation, enables patients and families to recognize a physician, employee, volunteer, or department with a financial contribution of any amount. Each honoree receives a certificate and a badge holder adorned with the program’s logo. Nurses who are nominated through the program are also considered for the prestigious DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.
