OSCEOLA, Ark. — The Osceola Aquatics Center has unveiled a new indoor pool, offering residents a year-round option for recreation and fitness. The facility, which officially opened Monday, builds on recent upgrades to the center in July.
The indoor pool is divided into two sections: a 25-meter lap pool designed for swimmers seeking exercise and training, and a children’s area featuring interactive attractions, including a slide shaped like the center’s turtle mascot, “Splash.”
Michael Ephlin, director of the aquatics center, highlighted the facility’s potential appeal to the community, noting that it is already drawing between 200 and 400 visitors daily. Construction on the indoor addition was completed within two years, and Ephlin said it fills a need for swimming access beyond the summer months.
While the center’s outdoor pool operates seasonally, typically open for about four months during the summer, the indoor pool will remain available to visitors throughout the year.
The new facility is expected to serve as a valuable community resource, providing opportunities for recreation, fitness, and family activities regardless of the weather.
