Virginia Man Sentenced to Life in Arkansas for Rape, Child Exploitation Case

A Virginia man has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to rape in a Jonesboro case that involved child sexual abuse material.

On Sept. 24, Circuit Judge Scott Ellington sentenced 35-year-old Brandon Kyle Moore of Virginia Beach, Virginia, to life in the Arkansas Department of Corrections for rape, according to a sentencing order. Moore also pleaded guilty to five counts of possession or use of child sexual abuse material and received an additional sentence of ten years, to be served consecutively to his life sentence.

Thirty-four additional counts of electronic facilitation of child sexual abuse and one count of computer exploitation of a child were dismissed as part of the proceedings.

The case originated on Aug. 26, 2025, when a woman contacted the Jonesboro Police Department to report allegations against Moore. A probable-cause affidavit from the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division stated that a forensic interview with the victim revealed detailed descriptions of sexual acts Moore allegedly performed on them. The victim also stated Moore recorded the abuse and displayed videos of similar acts involving others.

On Sept. 24, 2025, Special Judge Ralph Wilson found probable cause to charge Moore with rape, defined under Arkansas law as involving a person younger than 14.

Following the investigation, Detective Adam Hampton secured an arrest warrant for Moore. At the time, Moore was serving in the U.S. Navy and was arrested in Norfolk, Virginia. He was extradited to Arkansas on Sept. 23, 2025, and booked into the Craighead County Detention Center on a $750,000 cash or surety bond.

In addition to his incarceration, Moore was ordered to have no contact with the victim or anyone under 18 years old and was banned from using internet-enabled devices.
