Sales tax revenue in Mountain Home continued to rise in September, with figures showing growth across multiple local tax streams. According to Mountain Home Finance and Treasury Director Alma Clark, the city collected $653,267 in sales tax revenue for the month, representing sales made in July. This marks an increase of $19,487, or 3.74%, compared to September 2022.
Year-to-date, city sales tax collections have grown by 2.4%, or $133,050, compared to last year’s pace.
In addition to the city tax, Mountain Home’s share of Baxter County sales tax revenue also rose, totaling $325,228 for September. This is up $16,094, or 5.21%, from the same period last year. Year-to-date, the city’s portion of county sales tax revenue reflects a 5.02% increase, with an additional $126,254 collected so far this year.
Public Safety Sales Tax collections for September were $244,975, an increase of $7,307, or 2.48%, from the previous year. Park-specific taxes also posted strong results. The Park Improvement Sales Tax brought in $326,633, exceeding the monthly bond payment obligation by $112,008. Additionally, the Parks Operations Sales Tax generated $163,316 for the month.
These increases demonstrate continued growth in local sales activity, contributing to key public services and infrastructure initiatives in Mountain Home.
