The Mruk Family Center on Aging will host a free educational program on the MIND Diet and its benefits for brain health on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 11 a.m. to noon. The event, led by MaLinda Coffman, MS, RD, LD, a registered dietitian, will be held at the center, located at 624 Hospital Drive, across from the main entrance of Baxter Health.

The MIND Diet, a hybrid of the Mediterranean and DASH diets, emphasizes foods such as leafy greens, berries, nuts, whole grains, and healthy fats. It was developed to support cognitive health and reduce the risk of age-related memory decline. Coffman will provide an overview of the dietary plan, share supporting scientific research, and offer guidance on incorporating brain-healthy foods into daily routines. Attendees will also learn which foods to prioritize and which to limit.

The program is designed for individuals considering lifestyle changes for their own health and for caregivers seeking strategies to support loved ones. Those interested in attending can register by calling 870-508-3880.
