Two community organizations, the Christian Clothing Exchange and Hope For All, are teaming up to host a fundraising event on Friday at First United Methodist Church. The event will feature a spaghetti dinner and a silent auction, with proceeds benefiting their ongoing efforts to assist individuals in need across the area.
The Christian Clothing Exchange, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, provides free clothing, toiletries, and other essentials to members of the community. Jennifer Reed of the Christian Clothing Exchange emphasized that the organization does not turn anyone away, even if they are unable to donate or exchange items. Hope For All works primarily with individuals experiencing homelessness, offering services such as food, sleeping bags, tents, blankets, toiletries, showers, and laundry access. The group also provides assistance with job searches and essential documentation when possible.
The two organizations frequently collaborate to provide comprehensive support for individuals facing emergencies such as house fires, floods, and domestic crises. The Christian Clothing Exchange also maintains backpacks with necessary supplies specifically for homeless individuals.
Proceeds from Friday’s fundraiser will support operational expenses and emergency assistance for the Christian Clothing Exchange. Funds allocated to Hope For All will aid its Hope House, which provides temporary housing for those in need.
Both groups encourage community involvement through volunteer opportunities, with service hours available for high school students and individuals meeting probation, parole, or fine requirements. The Christian Clothing Exchange operates at 24 Old Tucker Cemetery Road in Gassville, open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
