Voting is now open to decide the 69th induction class of the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame, with current members invited to cast their votes online or by mail until October 31. This year’s ballot includes nominees in two categories—regular and senior/posthumous—acknowledging individuals who have made significant contributions to their respective sports.
The regular category features 49 nominees under the age of 65. Among them are notable figures such as Joe Adams, Chuck Barrett, Alistair Cragg, Joe Falcon, Ken Hamlin, Jeff Henderson, Jonathan Luigs, Barry Lunney Jr., Wallace Spearmon Jr., and D.J. Williams. The senior/posthumous category highlights 50 candidates, including Glen Abbott, Scott Bull, John “Bo” Busby, George Cochran, Tim Lollar, Roland Sales, and James “Duck” White, among others.
"Each year, the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding athletes, coaches, and sports figures whose achievements have left a lasting mark on sports across our state,” said President George Burks. “Being nominated is a meaningful recognition in itself, and we encourage our members to take part in selecting the next class."
To participate, voters must be current members of the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame. Membership costs $100 annually, though coaches, athletic administrators, and past inductees can join at a reduced rate of $50. New members, including those who join on the October 31 deadline, are eligible to vote immediately. Membership also includes perks such as unlimited access to the Hall of Fame Museum in North Little Rock, nominating rights, invitations to exclusive events, and recognition in the induction ceremony program.
The Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame, founded to honor individuals who have made a lasting impact on sports in the state, inducted 11 members into its 2026 class earlier this year. That group included Nathan Brown, Alex Collins, Van Compton, Jim Haney, Erika Leak, and renowned thoroughbred trainer D. Wayne Lukas, among others.
