The boat and pickup truck owned by the late Don Webb, a longtime coach and community leader in Mountain Home, will be auctioned on October 1 during the city's Homecoming Week festivities. Proceeds from the auction will fund scholarships administered by the Mountain Home Education Foundation in Webb's name.
The items will be auctioned separately—allowing bidders to choose between the boat or the truck—with all funds supporting memorial scholarships. Webb, who passed away in June, was a celebrated figure in the Mountain Home community, leading the Mountain Home High School baseball program until his retirement in 1995 and later serving as an alderman on the Mountain Home City Council.
Mountain Home Public Schools Superintendent Allyson Dewey praised Webb as “a legend who embodied the true spirit of a Bomber” and highlighted his lasting impact as a coach, mentor, and friend to students and adults alike.
The boat is a 2019 Supreme L42 equipped with a 15-horsepower four-stroke Mercury motor, an Eazy Loader trailer, and a custom-made cover. The package will sell as a single item, with a fair market value of $12,000 and a minimum bid set at $6,000.
The truck is a white 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 regular cab pickup with approximately 149,665 miles. It features a 4.3-liter V6 engine, automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive, along with amenities like air conditioning, cruise control, power windows and locks, and an AM/FM stereo with a cassette player. The truck's fair market value is estimated at $8,000, and bids will start at $5,000.
Both items have been thoroughly cleaned and detailed ahead of the sale, with Rob Williams and Richie’s Detailing donating their services to prepare the truck and boat for auction. Organizers view the event as both a tribute to Webb’s enduring legacy and a way to support future students.
Webb coached generations of Bomber athletes, including Ron Czanstkowski, who played under him, joined his coaching staff in 1991, and succeeded him as head coach following Webb’s retirement.
