Jonesboro police have arrested a local man on charges related to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) following an investigation prompted by a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
According to law enforcement, in early September, NCMEC alerted authorities to a Google account associated with uploaded CSAM. Google provided investigators with the account’s IP address, an email address, and a listed date of birth. The IP address, which was linked to Optimum Communications, appeared to trace back to a residential address on Harrisburg Road in Jonesboro.
Arkansas State Police served a subpoena to Optimum Communications to obtain subscriber information tied to the IP address, which led to a residence shared by a woman with the last name Daffron. Further investigation revealed that her husband, identified as Gregory Daffron, also resided at the same address. Police determined that the date of birth on the Google account matched Gregory Daffron's birthdate.
Investigators allege that the Google account, under the username “Honey Badger,” was used to upload 44 videos containing CSAM. Based on this evidence, authorities secured a warrant for Daffron’s arrest.
Daffron was taken into custody on Tuesday, September 22. During his initial appearance before a judge, his bond was set at $250,000. The judge also ordered that Daffron be denied internet access while the case proceeds.
The investigation involved cooperation among multiple agencies, including NCMEC, Arkansas State Police, and Jonesboro police. The case remains under investigation.
