An inmate at the Greene County Detention Center died Thursday following a medical emergency, according to Sheriff Brad Snyder.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:16 a.m. when the inmate began experiencing health complications. Detention personnel and on-site medical staff performed CPR until first responders with Fire and EMS arrived to take over care. The individual was transported to Baptist Paragould Emergency Room, where medical personnel pronounced them deceased at 12:01 p.m.
Per standard protocol, the Arkansas State Police (ASP) was requested to investigate the death. An autopsy has been ordered and is pending.
Sheriff Snyder noted that all inquiries about the investigation should be directed to the Public Information Office at the Arkansas State Police Headquarters in Little Rock.
