Mountain Home’s junior high and high school cross country teams delivered strong performances at Tuesday’s meet in Salem, clinching top honors in three out of four categories.
The junior boys, senior girls, and senior boys teams all captured first-place team finishes. Meanwhile, the junior girls secured a respectable second-place finish. Ongoing issues with the event’s timing system prevented the full release of individual results.
Individually, two Mountain Home athletes stood out in the senior divisions. Simeon Costner claimed first place in the senior boys race, while Lucy Koehn earned the individual title in the senior girls race.
Mountain Home’s cross country teams are set to return to action on October 3 at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, a major meet that attracts top talent from the region.
