Crews in Jonesboro are working to address outages and traffic disruptions after a power line fell onto a vehicle outside a local music store on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 2 p.m. at Backbeat Music on Southwest Drive, according to a desk sergeant with the Jonesboro Police Department. The fallen line disrupted power for nearby residents and businesses, while also affecting traffic lights at key intersections.
Jonesboro City Water and Light (CWL) crews are on-site, working to restore power and resolve the issue. The city's traffic department has reported outages at the intersections of Rains Street and Highland Drive, as well as Southwest Drive and Highland Drive. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and treat any non-functional traffic signals as four-way stops to ensure safety.
According to CWL’s outage tracking page, several hundred customers lost power when the incident occurred. Restoration efforts are ongoing, though no specific timeline has been provided.
