Mountain Home’s junior varsity football team secured a solid home victory Monday night, defeating the Jonesboro Hurricane 20-7. The Bombers improved their record to 2-2 this season with the decisive win.
After an early first-quarter battle, Mountain Home found themselves trailing 7-6. Momentum shifted in the second quarter with the Bombers scoring 14 unanswered points, including a 51-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Maddox Haynes. This surge gave Mountain Home a 20-7 lead heading into halftime.
The Bombers' defense shined as well, holding Jonesboro scoreless for the remainder of the game. Key defensive plays included interceptions by Paxton Pool and Colt Thomas, stifling any comeback efforts by the Hurricane.
The second half saw no scoring from either team, with Mountain Home maintaining control to secure the win.
The Bombers will look to build on their success next Monday when they travel to face Marion.
