FORREST CITY, Ark. — A cyber tip from a cloud-based storage service led to the arrest of a Forrest City man on four counts of child exploitation, the Arkansas State Police (ASP) announced Friday.
Ja’Quan Ivey, 18, was taken into custody on Thursday, Sept. 17, in the lobby of the St. Francis County Detention Center. According to ASP, he faces four counts of pandering or possessing visual or print media depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.
The investigation began when the storage service flagged the uploading of suspected child sexual abuse material. On July 31, ASP special agents, assisted by Arkansas Highway Police, executed a search warrant at a residence on Summer Street in Forrest City, authorities said. Investigators seized an electronic device as part of the inquiry.
Ivey's bond has been set at $100,000. As of the ASP statement on Sept. 18, he remained in custody at the St. Francis County Detention Center. Court records indicate a hearing is scheduled for Oct. 5.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details were provided by state police.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
