FORREST CITY, Ark. – A Forrest City man was arrested Thursday, Sept. 17, after a cyber tip flagged the upload of child sexual abuse material to a cloud-based storage service, according to a Friday news release from the Arkansas State Police (ASP).
The investigation began when the storage service detected and reported the illicit material. Arkansas Highway Police joined ASP special agents to execute a search warrant on July 31 at a residence in the 100 block of Summer Street in Forrest City. During the search, an electronic device was seized as evidence.
Authorities arrested Ja’Quan Ivey in the lobby of the St. Francis County Detention Center. He faces four counts of pandering or possessing a visual or print medium depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, according to the ASP release.
Ivey was booked into the detention center but was released the same day, according to online jail records. His next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 5.
The investigation and arrest reflect ongoing efforts to combat the exploitation of children through multi-agency collaboration and the use of cyber tip reporting systems.
