Jonesboro police arrested a 27-year-old Little Rock woman who allegedly attempted to run over another woman with a vehicle before crashing into an apartment building.
On Sept. 19, officers responded to the 300 block of North Caraway Road to investigate a private-property crash that resulted in injury. According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim reported that she had been involved in an altercation with Nautica Ann Rogers prior to the incident.
After the argument, the victim said that Rogers entered a vehicle and drove into the victim’s car. She then went over the sidewalk and allegedly attempted to strike the victim before crashing into her apartment building.
Police detained Rogers and booked her into the Craighead County Detention Center at approximately 4:30 a.m., according to online jail records. On Sept. 25, Craighead County District Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge Rogers with aggravated assault, a Class D felony, as well as a private-property accident.
Judge Boling set Rogers' bond at $25,000 cash or surety. Court documents noted that Rogers had prior arrests for violent crimes, including an incident involving her throwing hot grease on someone. She was serving a 12-month suspended sentence at the time of the crash.
Rogers is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on Oct. 26. The investigation remains ongoing.
