The Mountain Home Bombers received two votes in the Arkansas Sports Media statewide high school football poll this week and remain in fifth place in the Class 6A standings.
The Bombers, currently 2-1 for the season, trail behind first-place Searcy, Benton, Sylvan Hills, and El Dorado in the Class 6A rankings. Searcy leads the division with 16 first-place votes and a perfect 3-0 record.
Mountain Home also gained recognition in the overall poll, receiving two votes among teams across all classifications. Bentonville, Conway, and Shiloh Christian took the top three positions on the overall leaderboard, with Bentonville securing 15 first-place votes.
In eight-man football, the Izard County Cougars entered the top three rankings this week, taking third behind Corning and Cedar Ridge. Izard County boasts a 3-0 season record as the competition heats up in this growing classification.
The high school football rankings, compiled weekly by the Arkansas Sports Media, reflect the combined votes of sportswriters and broadcasters from around the state.
Mountain Home will look to maintain its momentum as it continues its season against tough Class 6A competition, while Izard County aims to build on its strong start in eight-man play.
