The Fulton County Grasslands Conference is scheduled to take place Friday at the Fulton County Fairgrounds in Salem, addressing the challenges faced by local producers during an exceptionally dry and hot summer.
State and local specialists will gather at the event to discuss strategies for managing pastures and grasslands amid ongoing drought conditions. According to Fulton County Soil Conservationist Cory Tyler, the conference will cover methods for handling livestock grazing during extreme weather, forecasting needs and provisions, and other key topics to support successful grasslands management.
With drought and heat stressing local pastures, the conference aims to equip producers with insights to adapt to current and future conditions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn from demonstrations presented by conservation experts.
