Izard County Elementary STEM School in Violet Hill will host its annual STEM Night on Monday, offering interactive educational activities for students and their families. The event is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on the school campus.
STEM Coordinator Courtney Selph, who has been involved with the program since its inception, explained that the format for this year’s event has been updated to provide students with a broader educational challenge while increasing parental involvement. Several interactive “flow stations” will be set up, allowing students and parents to initiate STEM-focused activities together.
The evening will also feature an elementary book fair, which will run concurrently with the STEM activities.
Izard County Elementary was the first small school in Arkansas to implement a STEM curriculum and has received recognition on both state and national levels for its success with students. Selph described the initiative as a "wonderful program" that has greatly benefitted the school community.
The event is open to students, parents, and other community members interested in supporting STEM education.
