The Art Odyssey Studio Tour returns for its 15th year, offering the public a closer look into the creative spaces of 29 artists across Baxter and Marion counties. This year’s self-guided event will take place September 24, 25, and 26, running daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The tour includes a diverse range of artistic disciplines, such as painting, pottery, sculpture, and photography. This event invites participants to visit studios at their own pace and offers an opportunity to engage with local artists. Visitors can meet the creators, watch live demonstrations, learn about their techniques, and purchase original works directly from the artists.
Tour guide booklets with studio locations and driving directions are available at no charge at the Donald W. Reynolds Library Serving Baxter County, the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce, and several local businesses. These guides help attendees plan individual routes to explore as many studios as they like over the three-day event.
For those interested in a preview, the Donald W. Reynolds Library is currently hosting The Art Odyssey Sneak Peek Exhibit, which showcases one piece from each participating artist. This exhibit offers a sampling of the works attendees can expect during the tour.
Featured artists span several towns in the Twin Lakes region. In Yellville, participants include Dana Johnson, Meg Simons, Ashlie Hueter, and Carol Chiasson Rivas. In Cotter, artists Kelly Householder-Guiliano, Sylvia Berringer, and Shelly Huth will open their studios to visitors. Gassville features Bonnie Heenan, while Bull Shoals will showcase the works of Dawn Lagerstedt, Glen Lagerstedt, Jacki Skehan, Sami Castagna, and Evelyn Nelson. Lakeview will highlight Jerry Preator, and multiple artists from Mountain Home, including Emily Henry, D. Mairina Arellano, Jean Marston, Jennifer Marston, Catherine Stotesbery, Christi Cooper, Jenny Crownover-Merritt, Kathe Altazan, Linda Mahoney, Darlene Landrum, Steve Landrum, Dale White, and Cynthia Joy Malenshek, are also participating. Additional artists include Jeanne Roth from Gamaliel and Beth Ivans from Henderson.
No tickets are required for The Art Odyssey Studio Tour. Organizers encourage attendees to make the most of the experience by visiting multiple studios and taking advantage of dining and shopping opportunities in participating towns. The event highlights the vibrant arts community of the Twin Lakes area and celebrates creativity throughout the region.
