Nominations for the 10th annual Arkansas Food Hall of Fame, organized by the Division of Arkansas Heritage, will close on Sept. 30. Citizens in all 75 counties are encouraged to submit nominations highlighting the people, places, and traditions that have shaped the state’s unique culinary identity.
Nominations are being accepted online at ArkFoodHOF.com and fall into five categories celebrating Arkansas food culture:
- **Arkansas Food Hall of Fame:** Honors long-standing restaurants that have significantly contributed to Arkansas’s food scene. - **Restaurateur of the Year:** Recognizes chefs, cooks, or restaurant owners who have made impactful contributions to both local communities and the broader culinary landscape. - **Food-Themed Event:** Celebrates community events or festivals centered around food traditions. - **Gone But Not Forgotten:** Pays tribute to past restaurants whose legacies played a role in shaping Arkansas’s culinary history. - **People’s Choice:** Highlights restaurants or food trucks that have captured public attention, spanning both new discoveries and beloved favorites.
For the past decade, the program has spotlighted the culinary traditions and establishments that contribute to Arkansas’s rich food culture. Each nomination seeks to preserve and celebrate the institutions and individuals that sustain the state’s legacy, from family-run establishments serving generations to community events that honor local flavors.
