Today marks the deadline for Mountain Home High School juniors and sophomores to register for the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). The test is a key step for juniors aiming to qualify for National Merit Scholarships.
Students must sign up in the high school office before the school day ends on Friday. The registration fee is $18.
The PSAT will be administered at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, in the lobby of Dunbar Auditorium. According to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, juniors are required to take the test during their junior year for consideration in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Sophomores also have the option to take the PSAT this year for practice, enabling them to familiarize themselves with the test before their scores begin to count for scholarships.
