The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) has released the 2025-26 letter grades for the state’s school districts and individual schools, marking the second year these grades have been issued at the district level.
According to the ADE, the evaluations aim to give families and community members clear insight into the performance of their local districts and schools. Grades are determined by metrics including achievement, growth, graduation rates, and college or career readiness.
Statewide, 26 districts achieved an "A" rating, while nine received an "F." Arkansas Secretary of Education Jacob Oliva praised the progress made by schools, highlighting strong growth and the contributions of educators, students, and families. "These letter grades reflect the hard work of educators, students, and families, as well as the targeted supports provided through LEARNS," Oliva stated.
The LEARNS initiative is a statewide program aimed at improving educational outcomes through tailored supports and resources.
The grades provide a benchmark for academic performance and growth, allowing stakeholders to track progress over time.
